The McGrath Launceston Running Festival has built a reputation amongst the Tasmanian and Australian running community as one of the fastest road races in the Southern Hemisphere. Since 2007 thousands of runners from around Australia have come to #RunLaunnie and produce a personal best.
We're also the largest mass participation sporting event in Northern Tasmania, with upwards of 2000 runners and walkers lining up across the four events on offer over the weekend.
Since 2007 the 'Launnie 10' has produced countless PB's for runners of all abilities, including a women's Australian Allcomers Record in 2023. Please note the cut-off time of 90min, as this is a run event.
Learn more >Perfect way to start your weekend, walk, run, stroll or crawl, just make it to the finish line! Grab some buddies, work mates or family members and make a team.
Learn more >If 5km is too far, but you want to get involved, the Liv-eat Mile is the event for you. 1609metres of flat, easy fun (a bit tougher of course if you're pushing a pram). Choose from the Competitive Mile or the Community Mile!
Learn more >We've got big goals for this event - to become one of the worlds best half marathons. So come and run your 'half PB' with us.
Learn more >All finisher's in the half marathon, 10km, 5km and 1mile events will receive a finisher's medal!
The medal will have space on the back for those who wish to purchase a brag tag and display your time – perhaps a PB.
As a World Athletics permit event and Tasmanian Championship, World Athletics rules will govern the event. Awards will be based on Gun Time (i.e. the order of the athletes across the finish line)
Refer to the event waiver in the entry platform.
2025 bib collection will be from the Peppers Silo's Hotel on Lindsey Street, with more details to come closer to the event.
Your race bib has your individual race number and timing tag and must be visible and worn on your chest throughout the event.
A friend can collect your bib for you, just ensure you communicate with each other and they know you're collecting for them.
